Chase Pipes, owner of the Smoky Mountain Relic Room, has spent most of his career looking for American artifacts. In addition, Chase Pipes is also a member of the Central States Archaeology Societies, Inc. (CASI).

The Central States Archaeology Societies, Inc., is an organization whose mission is focused on developing a better understanding of the discipline among all stakeholders. Comprised of professional and amateur collectors, museums, and learning institutions, the society publishes articles in a journal related to the different discoveries found around the world in hopes of providing information to interested individuals in a variety of professions.

Published four times a year (January, April, July, and October), the journal is considered a leading publication. According to the organization’s website, the journal provides members with a voice. More importantly, by creating a central place where students and professionals can make submissions, there is an opportunity to fill in the missing links to history.
